Imagine going for dinner with a total stranger. It could almost be a blind date but romancing isn't on the cards. The focus of the experience is much more rare: meaningful conversation born from a menu of carefully curated questions.
Conversation meals are a concept developed by the historian Theodore Zeldin. They seek to encourage meaningful exchange between strangers, opening up portals into otherwise distant worlds.
They have been described as "a radical way to gain insight into other people's lives." Over an honest meal and a menu of thoughtful conversation starters, two newly-introduced diners get to know each other - side-stepping small talk and niceties and heading straight for the gritty stuff.
What's the story behind Feast with Strangers?
First started 3 years ago by Oxford Historian Theodore Zeldin who celebrated his 65th birthday by bringing a bunch of strangers together for a meal, it has been done in multiple cities around the world and we hope to bring it to Singapore for the very first time, to encourage more Singaporeans & friends, to put down our phones and connect genuinely with someone else.
So, what is included in the ticket?
Your main course will be included in the ticket. The food is being prepared by the in-house kitchen at The Hanger, and they are simply delectable. Closer to the event date, you will receive a form where you can select your main for the night.
